Crystal Palace Football Club are looking for Site Security to join our operations team at our Academy in Beckenham. Day-to-day tasks may include manning a gate or reception and ensuring that all the premises are secure whilst also making sure all visitors to the site have an enjoyable and safe visit.

We are looking for somebody with excellent communication skills, has a can-do attitude and displays a professional attitude at all times. The successful candidate will be adaptable and flexible as shift patterns are varied each week.

You will be responsible for…

Gate Security Duties:

  • Manning the main gate entrance to CPFC Academy site from opening until close (various shifts including some night shifts)
  • Liaise with reception, main security and other managers to alert them when a visitor or delivery has arrived for them
  • Directing deliveries and visitors to the correct area of the grounds
  • Recording all visitors and deliveries that enter the ground
  • Observing for signs of crime or disorder and investigating disturbances
  • Report in detail any suspicious incidents

Stewarding Duties:

  • Ensuring the safe access and comfort of spectators visiting the site
  • Identifying and reporting any incident, occurrence or hazard among spectators and report to the supervisor
  • Ensure all CPFC standards are upheld and act as the first line of contact with guests to provide a welcoming and first class experience from the point of entrance.

Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager

Our match days are typically on Saturdays with some weekday evening and Sunday matches and the typical shift day is 6- 8 hours depending on the game.

 You will be responsible for...

  • Take initiative and participate in set up of kiosk, inventory and supplies
  • Welcome guests to the concession stand/ bar
  • Take order for food and beverages
  • Process payment and tender change, along with ensuring that all received cash is well- accounted for and stored in a safe area
  • Perform clean-up duties after each shift and ensure that concession stand is sanitized and tidied up for the next attendant

Our match days are typically on Saturdays with some weekday evening and Sunday matches and the typical shift day is 6 hours depending on the game.

You will be responsible for:

  • Understand all menus, product offerings, packaging and pricing
  • Responsible for preparing and cooking all of the hot food for a unit on match day and meeting peak periods with appropriate food levels
  • Ensure all products are accounted for, prepared and distributed according to cook off numbers and instructions from your manager
  • Restock and ensure the food prep area is clean at the end of your shift
  • Ensure all unit kitchen equipment (electrical or otherwise) is cleaned down and properly maintained at the end of every shift
  • Adhere and keep up to date records for food and health and safety standards such as food temperature control levels as well as follow all company safety and security policies and procedures

 You will have…

  • Basic food hygiene qualification and strong knowledge of proper food handing procedures
  • Experience grilling or cooking food in mass quantities, particularly in a busy or similar environment

Job Description:
Crystal Palace Football Club are currently seeking host family providers to support our academy players who will be required to live away from home to fulfil their education and football training at our club. This provision supports our young people’s holistic experience and will enable them to reach their full potential.

The host family provider will help fulfil the club’s duty of care with regard to our young people by ensuring homely accommodation is provided throughout the season to our young people who require it. Our placements vary from one-night stays to 5-7 nights per week and we are looking for host families who can offer either of these placement types to our young people aged between 15 – 21 years old.


Requirements and Responsibilities: • Provide a homely and friendly environment for our young people. • Support our young people by teaching them basic independent living and self-care skills such as washing, cooking and cleaning up after themselves. • Provide meals in line with nutritional guidance from the Academy. • Accommodation has access to public and local amenities with good transport links to the Academy training ground. • Report any welfare concerns to the Academy Safeguarding and Welfare team should they occur. • Include our young people in family life as much as they feel comfortable with. • The club will regularly inspect and visit the placement during the season. • The club will provide further guidance to host families, young people and their parents explaining what would be expected of them.

Crystal Palace Football Club is committed to safeguarding and ensuring the welfare and protection of children and young people and expects host families to share this commitment. As such, the post holder will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check and risk assessments prior to a placement commencing. Any other person who resides in the household or has regular contact will also legally be required to complete an enhanced DBS. Host Families will be required to attend safeguarding training and workshops (if necessary) arranged by the Academy.

Essential Requirements and Skills: • Provide the young person with a suitable and safe environment. • Provide the young person with their own double size bedroom. • Excellent communication and listening skills and ability to build trusted working relationships. • Able to cope with the young person’s flexible schedule throughout the football season.

Desirable Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
• Experience and knowledge of working with young people. • An understanding of the emotional impact and well-being challenges that academy/ professional life may bring. • Child-focused approach. • Ability to promote and demonstrate anti-discriminatory practice. • Capacity to accommodate more than one player.

As part of the recruitment process the club would need to conduct a number of home visits to determine the suitability and ensure the home meets the requirements for hosting young players within the academy.

You will be responsible for...

  • Working closely with the Academy Performance Analysts and coaches in order to provide support to the Academy age group teams and coaches.
  • Assisting in the filming and analysis of age group matches.
  • Assisting in the delivery of individual, unit and team based analysis sessions as requested by the Coaches.
  • Contributing to projects and reports specific to the Performance Analysis department.

You will be responsible for…

  • Assisting team management within the extensive games programme
  • Attending tours, tournaments and festivals as and when required
  • Recording sessions on the PMA
  • Collaborating to hold player review meetings
  • Developing bespoke individual development plan for each Player in your age group

The role will require the candidate to be able to maximise revenue through the generation of increased sales, whilst also minimising costs through effective stock management, budget control and key stakeholder partnerships. 

You will be responsible for…

  • Strategic development and management of the club’s entire retail department to meet revenue and profit targets
  • Sourcing and selling quality products at targeted margins across a range of channels with motivated and effective sales/operational team
  • Identification and building of relationships with strategic suppliers
  • Development and management of efficient stock storage, control and management processes
  • Management of licensing to ensure the club gets the best deals with the designated legal parameters
  • Agreeing and setting Retail Sales budgets for instore and online sales and required levels of procurement to meet target profitability
  • Development and management of strategic retail calendar with impactful seasonal campaigns and optimised product ranges for key football (e.g. new kit launch) and non-football (e.g. back to school, Christmas etc.) driven events

Description

  • Be the main contact for Professional Development phase Staff and Players for anything related to player care and welfare
  • Work closely with the Head of Education to help build PDP Players’ CVs and networks
  • Create Personal Development Plans for PDP Players and hold regular one on one sessions with them to ensure they are aware of internal and external expert support available to them
  • Plan and coordinate/deliver a three-year (U17 – U19) life skills programme in accordance with PL Rules and Club requirements. The Life Skills Programme will be suited to the educational, social and emotional needs of young players
  • Help build a robust exit strategy for Players who depart the Academy at the end of their Scholarship/Contract
  • Introduce an effective aftercare strategy for PDP Players for up to three years post-release
  • Build a network of relationships which will support PDP Players who have been released from the Academy – this will include colleges, universities and overseas education opportunities
  • Visit released Academy Players for regular check-ins as and when required and offer them any support they may require
  • Travel on Under-18 and U23 away matchdays and be the lead point of contact for hotels and opposition clubs
  • Implement a programme to recruit released Players into roles across the Academy
